National Senior Games Postponed to May 10-23, 2022

National Senior Games Association (NSGA) staff is working diligently with local organizers in Greater Fort Lauderdale to finalize venues, general competition schedules and housing options. Registration for the National Games is expected to open in late summer of 2021, with exact dates for each registration period to be announced on NSGA.com and in the NSGA monthly e-newsletter The Long Run.

POSTPONEMENT

  • The National Senior Games in Greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida have been postponed to May 10-23, 2022.

EXTENDED QUALIFYING PERIOD

  • In addition to the adjustments approved in May 2020, the qualifying period for the National Senior Games in Greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida has been extended to December 31, 2021.
  • Athletes who meet the sport/event qualification standards at a qualifying state senior games in 2021 will qualify for the National Senior Games in Greater Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Information on the annual National Senior Games can be found at NSGA.com/nationalgames. NSGA reserves the right to make further adjustments to National Senior Games qualification and registration.

WE MISS YOU BUT WE’LL BE READY AS SOON AS IT IS SAFE!

Though we have missed seeing you at this year (due to cancellation of 2020 California Senior State Championships), we will look forward to seeing you at Nationals, not this year but in 2022!

We hope, though, you are already planning to join us sooner for the 2021 San Diego Senior Games, as well.  If all goes well and COVID is under control, we’ll come back with a bang!

In the meantime, we encourage you to stay in touch. We have recently launched along with Pasadena Senior Games and California Senior Games Association the Cynthia Rosedale Memorial Talk Series: Ask the Athlete. This  will be a Zoom event with a panelist and Q&A from the audience. It will take place every 2nd Monday of the month, featuring celebrity athletes, coaches and senior athletes.

While you are at it, help us keep the Senior Athlete Spotlight going! We encourage your stories, whether it is about yourself, a friend or a teammate. There is nothing better than inspirational stories to keep us stay positive through this pandemic!
